The 3D-printed COMETE bag in Emily in Paris

It was eagerly awaited, and the COMETE bag is finally on screen. Combining artisanal production with 3D silicone printing, this futuristic-designed bag, the result of a collaboration between designer Laura Deweilde and engineer Thomas Batigne, is showcased on the arm of Lily Collins, the protagonist of the popular Netflix series Emily in Paris – Season 4, Episode 5.

From a meeting, a generous exchange of ideas blending the world of fashion and industry is born. The delicacy of creation marries the robustness of technology to imagine the bag of the future.

Thanks to Lynxter’s expertise in silicone 3D printing with the S300X – LIQ21 | LIQ11 and Laura’s professional design skills, the bag is one of a kind. The 3D-printed flowers, made from silicone and grape anthocyanins, are inspired by fragments of the universe, adding an organic and futuristic touch to the design. These floral elements are finely printed on the S300X and then integrated into this new leather design, evoking the lines and form of a spaceship.

“For this new creation, the idea was to work with more organic forms with floral inspiration. Reflecting on a floral pattern I had previously modeled, I wanted to push further in terms of creativity and experimentation. By collaborating with Thomas, we were able to transform this exciting and innovative project. With Lynxter, merging the organic design with a more pure and architectural form was a beautiful challenge successfully achieved for this creation, particularly with a studied research and assembly of this new bag.”

The COMETE bag is among the favorite looks of season 4, selected by Marilyn Fitoussi, the costume designer for the series. Seeking a different and eclectic style, but with much more subtlety and sensuality in this new season. Marilyn does not choose a brand because it is iconic, but rather creations that allow for storytelling and help build a character.

About Lynxter

Based in France, we design additive manufacturing machine tools oriented toward Industry 4.0. As experts in elastomer 3D printing and leaders in our field, we aim to democratize 3D printing by offering quality tools and effective solutions to professionals.

About Lynxter Studio

We created a space to allow avant-garde creators to access and experiment with our laboratory technologies: the Studio. As an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), we design and create numerous systems, explore new processes, and new materials. However, market conditions do not necessarily allow all these innovations to be accessible to the general public. We believe they should not die in a lab but rather be shared and serve as a source of creation, fueled by our scientists and engineers, to be exploited by artists.
