DAB MOTORS AND LYNXTER: 3D PRINTING TO ACHIEVE HOMOLOGATION STANDARDS

To meet homologation standards for its new bike, the motorcycle manufacturer Dab motors has made use of the versatility of the S600D professional 3D printer in order to manufacture 3D printed parts. An innovative and promising solution.

The LM-S is Dab Motors’ masterpiece. This motorbike is fully configurable and is Euro 4 certified.

In order to meet the Euro 4 requirements for this bike, Dab Motors turned to Lynxter and its S600D, the only professional 3D printer capable of printing with different types of materials.

Wholly convinced by this project, we have invested our knowledge and skills in the LM-S in order to provide very precise parts with a high quality finish.

The materials selected are hi-tech and tough filaments (ABS Carbon and PETG Carbon of the brand Kimya) and also flexible materials (silicone and TPU). Each part has been printed in a single build. Prototypes were first made in order to then produce the parts for homologation. Once certification was obtained, the manufacturer was able to switch to series production.

Dab Motors and Lynxter have several points in common. Both young companies were founded around the same time and occupy neighboring offices in Bayonne. Of the same generation, the founders of both companies aspire to participate in innovative projects, proposing technical, modular-based, new-generation products. Their clearly defined visions challenge traditions and push boundaries, revolutionizing the business sectors.Both companies are proud to design and assemble their “made in France” products in their own workshops.
